Memorial Day Camping

Last year, we did not use our camper once. We didn’t even realize this until the season was over. We always had intentions of camping, just failed to make it a priority. So this year, even though we have our big trip coming up, we decided to take every opportunity to camp. Kate had a softball tournament in a nearby town, so we found a camping spot and made an adventure of it! Typical of our weather lately, we had storms. And this campground wasn’t one that we would typically choose. It was quite a bit busier than we would like, and we were parked on a grass lot next to other campers. Some of the amenities they offered were in disrepair. However, that did not stop us from making the best of it. Every camping trip, we look forward to Dan’s skillet breakfasts. Also, we made one pot spaghetti over the fire. We played catch, pass the pigs, watched Mrs. Doubtfire and I finished two books I had been slogging through. The kids tye-dyed, mini-golfed, and swam, and ate a lot of s’mores. We probably wouldn’t go back to this campground, but enjoyed camping. Now to finish school and start our European Adventure!
