This post was written about our day on 6/8/19 and posted on 6/11/19 due to lack of internet connection.
We got up bright and early on our last day in Barcelona. We headed to Park Guell. Antoni Gaudi was hired by Mr. Guell to design a utopian community for the wealthy of Barcelona in the late 1800’s. However, construction halted after some of the community was built. Eventually (not sure on the timeline) the city made it into a public park. Gaudi loved to make curved surfaces and broke tile into small pieces to make mosaics to acheive the curved look. In these pictures, you will see the stairs (and famous lizard) leading up to the square, an open square with a mosaic bench over looking Barcelona, the Porter’s quarters, Gaudi’s house on site, lower level walkway, overhead mosaics and gardens in the park. The mosaics are absolutely beautiful.
After the Park, we walked around Barcelona for a bit, found a playground for the kids and ended up at a Starbucks. After this, we went back and got our luggage and grabbed lunch at a tapas bar near La Rambla. This is a tourist district and it was extremely crowded mid-day. After lunch, we headed to port to get on board the Disney Magic for the next six nights. Tomorrow, we are off to Cannes, France with visits to Monaco, Eze, and Monte Carlo.

Love all of the mosaics. Beautiful pictures. So happy to see you guys relaxing and enjoying the culture….. in a fabulous dress, of course 😊
