Roma Day 3

Today we started another early day with a tour to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum. Every day in Rome has been between 86-93 days, so I am glad we had our tours in the morning.

After the tour, my parents and Jack went and grabbed lunch on the way back to the hotel. Dan, Kate and I finally found the Pantheon and grabbed lunch and gelato nearby. It is always nice to get some one and one time with each of the kids, so I really enjoyed this time.

Of course, at this time, it was back to the hotel to rest (and pack). We e decided to take a quick trip to the Bocca della Verita, the Mouth of Truth. According to legend, if you are untruthful, and put your hand in the mouth, it will chop your hand off. Jack decided his best plan of attack was to start telling a bunch of truths while we were in line.

After supper, we went shopping and ate dinner. We went to a men’s clothing shop and the owner Federico made fast friends with Dan and my dad. They bought some clothes and he recommended a friend’s restaurant down the road, so that is where we ended up for supper our last night in Rome.

Rome was a beautiful place to visit. It was full of culture, good food, good wine, and shopping. It is easy to get scammed in Rome and you have to be on your toes when paying bills. This was especially hard since there were six of us and we usually had one bill. It made it hard to track who got what and how much it costs.

Happy Father’s Day to my favorite Dads. They both work so hard for their family and always put their families first, always.

We absolutely loved this vacation, but there is no place like home and we are ready to return!
