San Francisco Day 1

March 31, 2023

After a day of travel, we landed in San Francisco International Airport around 1:30pm (3:30 CST). We took the train ($10.50/one way) to right outside our hotel. We learned upon leaving San Francisco on our final day , that we should have just bought the round trip ticket that was offered at the airport. You can only buy paper tickets at the airport. On our return trip, we either needed to add our ticket to the Wallet on our phone, or pay $3 extra for a hard plastic Clipper Card. After dropping our luggage at our hotel (Parc 55), we walked to Café Mason for a quick lunch. After lunch, it was back to the hotel to take a quick nap before dinner.

We decided to walk to dinner, and while we felt safe, we walked through a not-so-safe area of San Francisco, the Tenderloin. Some guys walking near us, said even a street over was just fine. These guys could tell we were tourists and walked with us for a bit. We ate dinner at Amerena, an authentic Italian restaurant. Amerena reminded us of restaurants we visited in Italy.

This dinner ended our first day in San Francisco.
