After 2 sea days, we arrived in Lisboa, Portugal. We had a schedule a 3-hour tour on a Tuk Tuk to show us a glimpse of Lisbon. I booked this tour on Viator here. I had no prior knowledge of Lisbon, other than a layover in the airport. Lisbon is beautiful and maybe not as over-crowded as other major European cities. I would say it reminded me of early 2000s Europe: crowded, but not oppressive. These are some photos I took on the way to our meeting point. All the sidewalks were mosaic, and many roads we’re as well.

Our driver first took us to some beautiful vantage points of Lisbon.

Then, he took us all around the different areas of the old town. Being a capital, there are many official buildings.

Our driver took us to a little bakery to try a custard pie. This is one of the oldest bakeries selling these custard pies. So good!

We viewed the April 25th Bridge. The 25 de Abril is a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tagus River. It has a main span length of 1,013 metres (3,323 ft), making it the 48th longest suspension bridge in the world. (Source: Wikipedia)
If this bridge looks familiar, it’s because it had the same design and construction team as the Golden Gate Bridge.

We visited a monument dedicated to all the famous explorers and navigators out of Portugal. The map on the ground shows all the places they discovered.

After this, it was time for our driver to leave us. He dropped as off at this cool market for lunch, with many different options. However, every other person had this place in mind for lunch, and it was hard to find a seat. We started meandering back towards the ship when Jack spotted Pink Street. Kate wanted to take her photo there when we drove by earlier, so we stopped there.

While on pink street, we decided to stop at Rio Grande for lunch.

After lunch, we made our way back to the boat. I loved several things about Lisbon and could have spent more time there. I am not sure how much more time, but it definitely felt safe and clean. There were plenty of food options, shopping, and sights. I loved all the tile on the walls and the colorful buildings. I included a picture of a tuk tuk, but it was not our tuk tuk because I forgot to snap a picture.

On to Vigo, Spain tomorrow!
