A few years ago I bought a shirt that said “I’d rather be in Mykonos” . We would joke that I actually didn’t know if I would rather be there. Now, that I have, I think it is a complicated question. I would rather be in Mykonos than Illinois in the Winter but if I am going to Greece, I would rather be in Crete and the family is in overwhelming agreement. I think my judgement would be more kind if we hadn’t done Santorini, Crete, and Mykonos in three days. I think Mykonos might have been our least favorite.
We took a bus tour today and the guide kept mentioning Mykonos’ party life, so I am guessing that is the main appeal. On our tour, we visited a lighthouse, a bakery, a beach, and famous windmills. We then went to the city center and continued our tour on feet. After we left our tour, we did a little shopping and ate lunch.
We felt safe the entire time in Mykonos and found it fairly easy to navigate. The back alleys basically all wound back into each other. There was a mix of typical souvenir shops and high end fashion.
