We arrived at port today and said “See ya real soon” to the Disney Fantasy and our fantastic service team.
A quick note about why we love cruising with Disney. Not only is it a cruise ship with Disney theming, characters, and movies, but it also has amazing service. To be fair, we have never cruised with another cruise line. Our wait staff of Yhokey, Jude, and Jamie were excellent. They always had smiles on their faces and we really enjoyed getting to know them over the 12 days. We are excited for Jude, from India, who got to go home after this cruise and see his daughter (almost 4 years old), and Jamie, from South Africa, has been on the ship since March and gets to go home next month. No matter where they saw us on the ship, they greeted us and made sure we were taken care of. In conversation, I told Jude that I had never really tried Indian food. From that day forward, he brought a special plate of Indian food to our table each night to try in addition to our main meals. If I was indecisive about a dessert selection, Jude always brought both desserts. These interactions are why we love Disney Cruise Line. On our cruise, they also had Becky Cline who is the Director of Disney Archives. She gave really interesting presentations. We also got to see Frozen and Aladdin, which were really good quality. The food was great, the shows and entertainment were great, the staff was great, and we have already booked our next cruise.
Back to Barcelona. After getting off the ship, we made our way to our hotel. After dropping our luggage, we did a little shopping. Jack loves buying soccer jerseys in Europe, so we went to the Barca Store and got him a jersey. We then went to lunch. We enjoyed a place along the pier last year, so we returned for some paella. Kate remembered how good they Creme Brulee was, so of course, she got that for dessert.

After lunch, a storm was coming in, so we headed back to the hotel for a rest. When we woke up, I had energy to burn so we headed out again. We decided to visit a wax museum on La Rambla. It was Museu de Cera Barcelona. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was something to do and killed time. It was actually really nice and we enjoyed it.

After the wax museum, we decided to visit Casa Battlo. Casa Battlo was designed by Gaudi, who also was the architect of La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and other sites around Barcelona. He is known for his use of color, light, and mosaics. I absolutely love visiting his work. We visited the house at night, and there was all kinds of lighting that made it extra special.

At this point, it was about 10pm, and we wandered our way back to our hotel.
