Thanksgiving in New York: Arrival Day

11/22/2025

We started our day in Chicago and had a smooth flight to Newark, NJ. Newark was very easy to get through and after a short ride we were at our hotel around 2pm. We are staying at Hilton Midtown due to its central location and it’s prime spot on the parade route. Unfortunately, it is very busy with performers in the parade and it is very crowded and they are going through elevator updates making elevator lines very long.

We dropped our bags and took off to find “lupper”. I had a list of pizza places to visit, so we picked one nearby. We ended up at Joe’s Pizza on Broadway. There was a line outside the door, but it moved quickly and we each picked two slices.

After pizza, we walked through Times Square.

Then,we headed to Junior’s Restaurant and Bakery for their famous New York Style Cheesecake. I got apple crumble cheesecake, Kate got pumpkin pie cheesecake, Jack got raspberry swirl cheesecake, and Dan got salted caramel cheesecake. They were all delicious!

After cheesecake, we slowly made our way back to the hotel. We did some window shopping. Walking down 5th Avenue looked and smelled like Christmas. I loved it!

We ended our day at 6:30pm 😴😴
