Thanksgiving in New York: Day 5

1126/2025

We started our morning a bit slow but decided to walk to a pizza place for lunch. John’s of Bleeker Street was on Dan’s list to try and it is located in Greenwich Village about an hour from our hotel. This was another coal fired pizza place highly recommended by Dave Portnoy.

We, of course, stopped and got a bagel on the way.  Macy’s was on our route,  so we were able to see their cool windows and wander around. We were in a long, slow moving line at Macy’s to get parade ornaments for the kids and the lady behind me mentioned all the items were online. We left the line and ordered everything online. One thing that was cool was the old wooden escalators.

After our stop, we continued our way downtown towards Chelsea and Greenwich Village to eat Pizza at John’s of Bleeker Street.

After lunch, we took a little walk on the High Line. It was beautiful and well used.

After our walk,  we headed to watch the Book of Mormon.  For the kids, it might have not been appropriate, but we laughed the entire time.

We went back to the hotel and had The Halal Guys food truck food. It was very good and mostly worth the wait in the rain.
