Vibrant

1/4/2025

Each year at our church, we blindly select words from a basket. These words are called “Star Words” and they are meant to guide or inspire our year. This year I received the word VIBRANT. As soon as I saw my word,  I knew God was working in my life.

Since turning 40 in September, I have been feeling an itch of unrest. I wonder what life will look like without the kids needing me in a amgonle way. I spend so much of my life making sure the kids have what they need and are where they need to be and are happy doing it. Sounds VIBRANT, right? I have fallen into the comfortable monotony of raising kids and working. Monotony, or boring work, is important. It is the meat and bones of living and it is where I am most comfortable. When I drew VIBRANT, I knew that God was telling me it was time to stretch and grow and do it colorfully. I decided to write about my.journey for accountability and creativity.

So as I am tossing this word around in my head, I do what anyone would do. I go to ChatGPT with it. Here is what Chat had to say:

Think of Vibrant as the lens, not another task.

VIBRANT = Energy • Color • Faith • Presence

Ask yourself, How did you choose vibrancy today?

Chat also gave me monthly inspirations to focus on:

January – VIBRANT FOUNDATION
Focus: consistency & rhythm
Build streaks gently
Keep goals small and daily
Ask: What helps me feel steady and alive?

Today, my walk outside made me feel alive. I could feel the cold on my face and enjoyed the movement.  Reading The Book of Common Prayer makes me feel steady and calm. I chose vibrancy by watercoloring during my creative time.
