Today, we ported at Maloy, Norway. Maloy is located similar latitude to Anchorage, Alaska, and we noticed similarities. Maloy has a population of 3,300 and seemed to be secluded by a mountain range. They get around 32 cruises a year and in those days their population is doubled. The high for the day is 62 degrees. We were welcomed by musicians, including Elvis impersonators and local musicians. As it turns out, we arrived during their local Elvis Festival. They have a donkey pull the aft ropes to tie them to the dock. Unfortunately,  we didn’t have a good view point of this.

It was hard to find tours for our time in Maloy, but I did book a 1 hour tour to Kannesteinen. Kannesteinen is a natural rock formation. Kannesteinen is actually not very big, but the scenery around it was absolutely breathtaking and worth the short excursion. The air was so crisp and clean.

We did a short stop on the way back for another photo opportunity.

After the tour, we found lunch at a local restaurant and got fish and chips. It was such a beautiful day to sit outside in the sunshine and just enjoy Maloy. We also had another Elvis serenading us at lunch.

After lunch, we walked down the main drag back to the cruise. We each picked out a troll to take home.

When we got back to the ship, I walked on the track. This track is one of my favorite things on the Disney Cruise ships. I have heard this may not be on the newer ships, but it is on the original 4. It’s easy to walk with views like this.

We got the sweetest send off from the Maloy citizens.

Partially due to the fantastic weather, I really really enjoyed this port and the beautiful scenery and I cannot wait to see the other stops in Norway.
